Solar Globes for garden and outdoors

And let there be light! Our solar globes let your outdoor area shine in its full glory. Thanks to solar technology, you don't need more than a little sunlight. Not only in the dark, but also during the day, solar globes are a decorative eye-catcher due to their appealing design. We show you everything you need to know about the popular solar globe lights!

Decorative solar spheres: Designs and functions

Whether in the garden, balcony, courtyard or terrace: solar lamps in the shape of spheres always cut a fine figure. Because the timeless beauty of a perfect globe captivates with its clarity and elegance. Solar globes can be hung up or placed on the ground: Solar globes with a ground spike are particularly suitable for gardens or outdoor areas. They can be easily placed in the ground or in a flower bed. If you have no space on the ground, you can hang a solar ball. You will find these versatile models in our assortment.

Tip: Discover our solar globes in a set of 3. With the different diameters of the light balls, you can bring variety into the design of your outdoor area. You can place the small and large solar globes next to each other or choose the location individually. This way you have light and decoration in one.

Metal solar spheres

The patterned shade of the metal solar ball creates atmospheric light effects on the floor and walls. The decorative solar-powered ball lights look particularly good on the terrace or balcony. The metal solar light is available in black, silver, rust or copper. Definitely an eye-catcher on a warm summer evening!

Glass solar spheres

Compared to normal solar globes, solar globes made of smoked glass or broken glass have a particularly elegant look. The integrated small LEDs shine atmospherically through the housing for several hours. If you don't want to place them on the ground or on furniture, you can also find solar balls made of glass for hanging.

LED solar globes: Full luminosity ahead

For light from your solar sphere, you don't have to pull a cable and you don't need a power connection, because the sphere draws electricity from sunlight that is absorbed by a solar module. This means you get the energy free of charge from nature, which makes the solar light very environmentally friendly. There are two different ways to charge the solar ball:

  • Either the solar module is integrated in the light or
  • the solar panel is suspended externally so that the battery can be optimally charged.

As soon as it gets dark, a twilight sensor switches on the lighting. From then on, the solar globe has a lighting duration of up to 8 hours. Depending on the model, there is a switch for switching on and off on the housing of the solar globe. In this way, you can individually determine whether the light sensor should react at dusk and the globe should shine in the dark or not. Another advantage of LED solar globes is that the electronic light source has a much longer life than conventional lamps.

Choose a warm white or cool white colour temperature or create the right atmosphere with a solar globe with colour change depending on the occasion and mood. Some models can even shine in different light colours! You can adjust this decorative element with a remote control.

For what purpose do you want to use your solar sphere? Do you want to use the sphere as a light source or as a signpost? In this case, solar spheres with a ground spike are a good choice. For outdoor lighting, e.g. in the garden, the IP protection class and degree of protection are also important. Most outdoor luminaires, including those that are solar-powered, have an IP44 rating. This means they are resistant to splashing water and their housing protects against foreign bodies. Pay attention to the material of the solar sphere: If the sphere is placed in the garden, it is important that the housing is waterproof and weather-resistant. Solar spheres with a plastic housing are best suited for this. If, on the other hand, you are more interested in decorative light accents, you are well advised to choose a solar globe made of metal or glass, which you can place in a roofed outdoor area. The choice of the right shape and light colour depends entirely on your taste.

You can find solar spheres in different sizes. You can get small solar spheres with a diameter of 15 cm or 20 cm. Large solar balls have a diameter of 30-50 cm. If you can't decide or want to place several sizes next to each other, you can buy solar spheres in sets.

If you use solar globes outdoors, it is important to take good care of them so that you can enjoy your globe light for a long time. Solar globes with plastic housings are splash-proof and weatherproof in heavy rain or wind, but they should be stored in the cellar or garden shed in winter when the temperature is below zero so that they are not damaged.
